This course assumes a background in basic concussion rehabilitation assessment and treatment interventions and is not a comprehensive concussion course. This course specifically discusses the evaluation and treatment of vertigo and dizziness in concussed patients.

Meet the instructor
Sonia Vovan
PT, BHSc, MScPT
Sonia is a clinician, advocate, and researcher. She practices as a physiotherapist and vestibular therapist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her clinical focus is in concussion and vestibular disorders. She received her advanced training in Vestibular Rehabilitation through Duke University’s School of Medicine (accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association) and received extensive post-graduate training in Post-Concussion Management.
Sonia is an advocate for individuals suffering from brain injuries and is a Board Member of the Brain Injury Association of York Region (www.biayr.org). As the Communications Director, she oversees and provides strategic direction for all communications activities for the association and works closely with other local, provincial, and national associations to share a unified message of brain injury awareness.
Sonia is pursuing her Ph.D at York University (Toronto, Ontario), focusing on examining the implications of changes in sensorimotor integration in working-aged adults following concussion.
