Meet the instructor

Dr. Katie Mitchell
PhD, PT, CAT(C)

Katie is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist providing Telehealth concussion care and high performance sport consulting. She completed an honours undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at WLU, an advanced Athletic Therapy certificate from Mount Royal University (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), and Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada).

Katie is a member of the CATA Education and Research Committee and the Concussion in Para Sport (CIPS) international group.

She has presented at conferences including,

• IOC World Conference on Injury & Illness Prevention in Sport 
• Canadian Concussion Network (CCN-RCC)
• American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
• Canadian Athletic Therapy Association (CATA)
• Sport Innovation (SPIN) Summit, Own the Podium
• International Society of Posture and Gait Research (ISPGR)
• 6th Consensus on Concussion in Sport (2022)

She has also been invited to speak for professional associations including:

She has attended major games including, the Women's World Challenge of Para Ice Hockey (2022 & 2023), National Para Ice Hockey Championships (2019, 2022, 2024), Toronto Para Pan Am Games (2015), Ontario Para Sport Games (2013), and CIS Women's Hockey National Championships (2010 & 2011).
